The safety requirements for Lanzhou Petrochemical Company’s transformation and upgrading project involving ethylene modification have passed expert evaluation

On February 5, a meeting to review the safety requirements for Lanzhou Petrochemical Company’s project aimed at upgrading and transforming its ethylene production facilities was held at Lanyuan Hotel. The project’s safety assessment report passed the expert review successfully. At the same time, from a professional perspective, the expert group recommended further refining the evaluation criteria for each device in separate sections, detailing the composition of raw materials and products after adjustments to the project scale, improving the analysis of technical and equipment safety feasibility, adding additional evidence for safety assessments, and clarifying safety control measures. Qingdao Ousaisi Environment and Safety Technology Co., Ltd. was commissioned to conduct a safety assessment of the 15 production units, storage and transportation systems, utility systems, and auxiliary facilities that were newly built or upgraded as part of Lanzhou Petrochemical’s ethylene transformation project. This assessment involved qualitative and quantitative analysis of the main hazardous and harmful factors present during the project’s operation. Safety measures and recommendations for eliminating, preventing, or reducing these hazards were proposed, thereby providing a scientific basis for the project design. This ensures that safety facilities are designed, constructed, and put into use simultaneously with the main structures of the project, so that the completed project complies with relevant laws, standards, and regulations – thus helping to improve the inherent safety level of the facility once it is operational.
