According to Sinochem New Network, recently the Liaoning Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association held a welcome event for new members as well as an industry exchange meeting in Panjin City in 2026. Zhu Jianmin, president of the Liaoning Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, emphasized that the petrochemical industry in Liaoning is currently at a crucial stage of transformation and upgrading, as well as planning for development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Chemical enterprises should take technological innovation as the core driving force, strengthen cooperation among industry, academia, and research institutions, and continuously enhance their innovation capabilities and competitiveness. On the one hand, it is necessary to stick to the core business and build core advantages ； On the other hand, it is necessary to actively expand the market with an open attitude and seek more cooperation opportunities. Zhang Qiaoyun, vice president of the Liaoning Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Liaoning Provincial International Chamber of Commerce, discussed the industry’s development trends, stating that the petrochemical industry is a key focus for Liaoning’s foreign economic and trade cooperation. Liaoning’s petrochemical enterprises should better understand international market demands, pursue technological upgrades and green transformation, and by strengthening international capacity cooperation as well as introducing advanced technologies and management practices, they can enhance their competitiveness and achieve higher-quality development through openness.
