SLB wins contract for development of Mutriba oil field in Kuwait

　　According to Sinochem New Network, recently the global oilfield services giant SLB announced that it has signed a five-year contract worth $1.5 billion with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to support the next phase of development at the Mutriba oilfield in Kuwait. 　　Under the agreement, SLB will provide end-to-end oilfield development services, covering integrated design, development planning, and production management. As the development of this oil field enters more complex technical phases involving high pressure, high temperature, and high sulfur levels, this contract expands SLB’s scope of services for this project. 　　The executive vice president of SLB’s regional office said that this contract demonstrates the strength of their long-term partnership, and the new scope of work will enable SLB to support the safe and reliable development of oil fields under complex reservoir conditions. 　　Kuwait is continuously advancing large-scale upstream projects to maintain production capacity and address the increasingly complex challenges posed by oil reservoirs. The Mutriba contract highlights the growing importance of long-term comprehensive service agreements in the development of oil fields in the Middle East, especially as operators seek to optimize the performance of development in deeper and higher-sulfur content reservoirs.
