On March 1, the author learned from the Production and Operation Department of Jilin Petrochemical that the company produced 262,000 tons of ethylene in the first two months of the year, a 112.08% increase compared to the previous year, marking a record high in ethylene production. Since the 1.2 million tons per year ethylene plant of Jilin Petrochemical’s refining and chemical transformation project was successfully put into operation in August 2025, the total ethylene production capacity has risen to 1.9 million tons per year, placing it among the top tier in China in terms of scale and capability. To ensure stable and high-level production from the facilities, Jilin Petrochemical aims for \"stability, reliability, full capacity, and excellence.\" It promotes close collaboration between old and new facilities, focuses on addressing key challenges, and relies on both lean management and technological innovation to continuously improve process parameters and equipment operation. This approach helps maintain stable production control, facilitates smooth integration and efficient coordination between old and new systems, and maximizes the potential of these facilities. Jilin Petrochemical, in line with the ongoing initiative of \"meticulous inspections, strict evaluations, and strengthening foundational capabilities,\" takes effective measures to prevent safety risks in the ethylene production facilities during fluctuations in temperature and seasonal changes. It analyzes and addresses any issues that are identified promptly, thereby achieving closed-loop management. Simultaneously, efforts are being made to strengthen personnel training and emergency response, with the aim of establishing a production model for the two ethylene plants that features coordinated efforts, increased overall output, and high quality as well as efficiency, thereby ensuring a stable supply of higher-quality chemical raw materials for downstream facilities.
