Jiujiang Petrochemical’s production and sales of high-end carbon materials have seen significant growth

On April 21, Jiujiang Branch of Sinopec Corporation (abbreviated as Jiujiang Petrochemical) learned that since the beginning of this year, the company has seized the growth opportunities in the high-end carbon materials market, continuously improved the structure of its refining products, focused on innovating production processes, and made every effort to increase production of high-end carbon materials. In the first quarter, the production and sales volume of high-end carbon materials increased by 150% compared to the same period last year. Given the current period of rapid development in the lithium battery anode material industry, Jiujiang Petrochemical focuses on the key goal of improving the quality and increasing the production volume of coke specifically used for anode materials. It summarizes its production experience in detail, forms dedicated teams to address related challenges, and adopts a working model that includes production plans, specialized task plans, and standardized manuals – essentially \"two plans and one manual\" – thereby establishing a work system characterized by close collaboration among production, sales, research, and application areas. The task force continuously optimizes the operations across the entire process of the coking plant, proactively visits downstream customers to accurately understand market demands, and carries out targeted product upgrades ； At the same time, efforts are made to deepen cooperation among industry, academia, and research institutions; together, they work to overcome key technical challenges. Strict controls are implemented regarding the storage and processing of raw materials, and core production parameters such as the reaction temperature in coking units, the pressure in coke ovens, and the amount of steam injected are carefully monitored to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the production process. In the first quarter, Jiujiang Petrochemical’s production of anode coke increased by 118.9% on a year-on-year basis; anode coke accounted for 72.19% of the total petroleum coke produced, while high-end carbon materials made up 82.22% of the output, demonstrating significant progress in the development of higher-quality and more sophisticated products. At the same time, the company has proactively strengthened cooperation with refining and sales companies, established regular technical exchange mechanisms with its downstream customers, collected feedback on product usage in a timely manner, and continuously improved product performance, resulting in an increasing level of customer acceptance for its products.
