The shaft of a chilled water pump has broken at the shaft end; I would like to ask experts what could be the cause?
In the past, several cold water pumps had their shafts break; this was due to poor dynamic balance of the impeller, wear of the bearings, and, over time, the shaft bending, which caused severe vibration and ultimately led to the shafts breaking.
