The unit is a reciprocating compressor with a maximum operating pressure of 20 MP; under normal operating conditions, the lubricating oil pressure is around 0.45 MP. After being pumped out by the oil pump, the lubricating oil is regulated by a distributor and injected into each cylinder. The pressure of the lubricating oil should be higher than that of the compressor; otherwise, it will not be possible to inject it. So what is the source of pressure for the lubricating oil? OP, the 20 MPa you mentioned refers to the pressure at the compressor outlet, namely the pressure of the medium being transported, such as hydrogen, and it has nothing to do with the pressure of the lubricating oil. The source of pressure for the lubricating oil is, of course, the lubricating oil pump – that’s the pump you mentioned. (Of course, if the compressor is equipped with an end-cap pump, then during normal operation the compressor relies mainly on that end-cap pump.) A pressure of 0.45 MPa refers to the pressure of the lubricating oil; it should be the pressure at the outlet of the lubricating oil pump. The normal pressure in the main lubricating oil pipeline should be around 0.25–0.3 MPa. It is recommended that the poster take a look at the PID flow diagram of your unit to find out what pressure each PTXXX instrument tag represents – whether it is the compressor outlet pressure or the lubricating oil pressure.
0.45 is the outlet pressure of the oil pump; the oil pumped by the pump is used to lubricate the moving parts of the compressor. Working pressure 20 is the compressor outlet pressure.
Is this cylinder lubricated with oil? If that machine has a dedicated oiler for filling the cylinders and seals, then the pressure must be higher than 20 Mpa; the original poster can take a look.
