Has anyone in your company used contactless seals? I remember reading about this type of seal in textbooks; it’s called a liquid film seal

1. Liquid film sealing is the same as gas film sealing; both can achieve zero leakage or zero escape of the medium being sealed, and they can also eliminate pollution in the environment. II. Since the sealed friction pair is in a non-contact state, there is no direct solid frictional wear between the end faces, which allows the service life to be **significantly extended. III. The frictional energy consumption at the end faces can be reduced by 5/6, and the amount of sealing flush fluid and cooling water used to reduce the temperature rise at those end faces is decreased, thereby improving operational efficiency. IV. There is no need for a more complex oil-sealing supply and circulation system, along with a corresponding control system. For upstream pumping seals with a buffer that prevents any leakage, the pressure of the buffer is much lower than the pressure of the medium being sealed, and no circulation is required, resulting in lower consumption. Therefore, it has a relatively simple structure, and the requirements for the reliability of auxiliary systems are not very high. V. Such seals can be used under conditions such as higher pH values and media with a high content of solid particles
