I’m not sure which part you are modifying. As for the temperature resistance of the graphite in the dynamic and static rings, there is no issue with that. However, antimony-doped graphite is generally used at higher temperatures, while phenol-formaldehyde resin is used at lower temperatures; When it comes to changing the medium, viscosity plays a role; in fact, heavy oil pumps are more suitable for high-viscosity fluids, while it’s harder to make changes when the viscosity is low :) :(
No problem. For our previous heat transfer oil pumps, operating at 220 degrees Celsius, we used mechanical seals manufactured by Dandong Klon; the auxiliary seal consisted of graphite gaskets, and it was a mechanical seal with a bellows design. The normal service life of such seals is generally over one year.
For medium-grade residue oil, it’s not very suitable to use metal bellows!
Residue is very viscous; for mechanical seals with a single-face diaphragm, the PLAN32 flushing scheme is a good choice. I use those from American Foxboro here, capable of withstanding temperatures over 300 degrees, and Klon also offers such products!
