There are currently two CNG compressors, modelled as VF-2.5/1-250 and VF-2.5/(1-3)-250; both have a nominal volumetric flow rate of 2.5 m3/min. The gas valves, pistons, and other components of these two machines are identical and interchangeable. The only difference is that the motor of the first model has a power rating of 75 kilowatts, while that of the second model is 110 kilowatts. In actual operation, the VF-2.5/1-250 model reaches full load at a gauge pressure of 2 kilograms. Given that the nominal volumetric flow rates and component sizes are the same, can the VF-2.5/(1-3)-250 model compress more gas at the same gauge pressure of 2 kilograms? Can the VF-2.5/(1-3)-250 compressor increase its air intake volume at a gauge pressure of 3 kilograms?
1. The problem is described in a complicated manner, so a response given might not necessarily meet the requirements. 2. If the structural parameters of the two reciprocating machines are identical (including speed and clearance), as well as their operating parameters, then the volume of gas handled will be the same, since the volume of gas absorbed and expelled during each reciprocating cycle is identical. 3. The size of the motor used does not change the operating performance of the compressor; however, it allows the compressor to handle gases with different molecular weights – for example, a high-power motor can handle gases with higher molecular weights
Judging from the model, it should be a compressor produced in Bengbu. The VF-2.5/1-250 has a capacity of 300 Nm3/h, while the VF-2.5/(1-3)-250 has a capacity ranging from 300 Nm3/h to 600 Nm3/h; the power of the latter may exceed 3 kilograms, and it is likely that the motor is equipped with a service factor.
