For SEW reducers, is the plug hole on them used as a level gauge hole? What is the purpose of the plug hole below?
Look at the pictures from multiple directions; it’s impossible to tell that way
It might be used as fuel filling and draining ports
Two oil holes; the one below is for draining oil. The one above is used to determine the oil level. When refueling, from the refueling port or breathing cap at the top ; Add oil, and it will flow out through the hole on top of the chassis; that amount is just right. Normally, the oil level is also checked through this hole; if it’s low, oil is added, and if it’s high, oil is drained. Gear oil expands when it gets hot.
The installation method wasn’t specified when purchasing, right? Under normal conditions, those two oil holes both belong to the horizontal cover plate. It’s the oil filling hole. Now you are using the M5 installation method. The upper part should be the oil level plug; there’s no need to worry about the lower part. There is also an oil drain plug at the very bottom. The ventilation plug on the horizontal plane should be opened
One is for ventilation, and the other is for checking the oil level. In recent years, SEW reduction motors have used calipers to determine the oil level; it’s not known whether SEW used oil mirrors for this purpose in earlier models. I have seen oil mirrors being used by other manufacturers of reduction motors

There are dedicated fuel filling ports and fuel level gauges.
