A York chiller unit is installed, consisting of a screw compressor, an oil separator, an evaporator, and a condenser. It works fine under normal conditions, and there’s not much to do. But when a problem arises, I don’t know how to handle it; I’m seeking help from all the experts here. 1. What is used to determine whether there is too much or too little Freon in the unit? 2. How are the liquid levels in the evaporator and condenser controlled? On my current chiller, when the load is increased, the liquid level in the evaporator can no longer be seen, and the cooling effect also decreases significantly
The refrigerant is stored in the evaporator and the condenser, and the compressor’s manual should specify the liquid level standards for the evaporator and the condenser.
It’s probably due to a low amount of refrigerant; the liquid level should be visible in the evaporator. What is the superheat value?
It is recommended to do what can be done (clean the water filter of the condenser), and then shut down the system to check for any leaks in the condenser and evaporator. If there is any leakage, after sealing it, refill the refrigerant and lubricating oil, and replace the desiccant and filter.
