When either the clearance adjustment system was not used or the piston assemblies exposed to hydrogen containing ethylene were removed, the compressor functioned normally. There are issues with the formula and materials of the piston rings; the manufacturer that produces these piston rings needs to be changed. Our company has also switched between two different manufacturers; it was only with the products from the third manufacturer that we achieved good performance. Now we replace them approximately once a year.
