Our factory has two identical condensing steam turbines! The operating conditions are exactly the same! But under the same vacuum level, the exhaust temperature of one of them is always about 5°C higher than that of the other! As the circulating water temperature rises! The temperature could vary even more! Does any friend know what the reason is?
The exhaust temperature has no relation to the circulating water temperature; only the heat well condensate temperature is related to the circulating water temperature. With the same negative pressure and operating conditions but different exhaust steam temperatures, are the steam consumption and steam quality of the two turbines also the same?
1. Contact the instrument and have it check whether the temperature thermistor is sensitive and whether there is any fault with the instrument; 2. Are the steam quality and quantity the same? ; 3. Is there a difference in the load for condenser air cooling (water cooling)? ; These are the 3 points I can think of for now

This post was last edited by symc on 2018-10-13 at 19:07. Undoubtedly, there are two reasons: 1. The fouling coefficients of the two condensers are different... One of them needs to be cleaned; 2. The level of tightness is different! One of the two, or both!
Try cleaning the heat exchanger; don’t forget to perform a pressure test to check for leaks
The control valve opening of the turbine with a higher exhaust temperature should be slightly larger! Do you mean that the high amount of steam causes the temperature at the exhaust end to be slightly higher?
All these things you mentioned! I only have the steam quality; I haven’t checked it! How should steam quality be taken into account?
Theoretically, under normal operating conditions, the exhaust steam from a turbine is saturated, with temperature and pressure being directly related to each other. To find out your differences, check the meter.
It’s quite normal; even when the equipment and operating conditions are the same, the data obtained can sometimes differ.
