What are the typical ranges for flow rate and head of single-stage, single-suction centrifugal pumps? If, when purchasing a centrifugal pump, parameters such as flow rate and head exceed the manufacturer’s production capabilities, would the manufacturer be willing to design a special version for the customer and create custom molds?
The single-stage, single-suction centrifugal pump utilizes an advanced hydraulic model. It is designed by combining the performance parameters of IS-type centrifugal pumps with the unique structure of vertical pumps, and is manufactured in strict accordance with international standard ISO 2858. The shaft seal of this product is a cemented carbide mechanical seal, offering advantages such as high efficiency, energy savings, reliable performance, and ease of installation and use. The IS type single-stage single-suction centrifugal pump is used for transporting clean water or other liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to those of water, at temperatures not exceeding 80°C. Design features of the IS type single-stage single-suction centrifugal pump: The performance range of the IS series is defined based on the design points – rotational speed: 2900 r/min or 1450 r/min; inlet diameter: 50–200 mm; flow rate: 6.3–400 m3/h; head: 5–125 m. Sealing methods available: packing seal, mechanical seal. Material: Cast iron. Mold costs are relatively high, and sometimes multiple adjustments are required. If all the failures were to be charged to you, it would not be worth it; it is recommended to choose options that are closer to standard and market-standard, i.e., commercial-grade products.

Starting a new production run would likely incur high costs, unless the pump in question is of extremely high quality and profitable to produce (given the large market), so ordinary manufacturers are reluctant to do so. In such situations, we usually switch to another manufacturer; if it’s difficult to find one, we consider whether it’s possible to modify the production process in order to change the parameters.
