Mechanical operation tests are generally carried out under vacuum conditions, primarily to evaluate mechanical parameters! The load-bearing performance test requires test gas, primarily to evaluate pneumatic performance indicators! They are divided into category one and category two: category one uses real gases, while category two uses surrogate gases; for specific details, refer to the testing standards established by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
The importance of mechanical testing lies in checking whether the vibration parameters of the unit during operation meet the design requirements, obtaining the exact value of the critical speed, and examining the fit between the rotating and stationary rotors (this is particularly important for steam turbines). The full-load test is primarily used to verify whether the performance of the unit meets the design requirements; in other words, it checks whether the unit can achieve the specified operating flow rate and pressure. After installation and once trial production is completed, the users conduct performance evaluation tests.
