Based on the working principle of large-diameter electromagnetic flowmeters, it is clear that the fluids whose flow rate is to be measured must be conductive. Strictly speaking, with the exception of high-temperature fluids, any fluid with a conductivity greater than 5 μ/cm can be measured using a corresponding large-diameter electromagnetic flowmeter; therefore, non-conductive gases, steam, oils, propylene, and similar substances cannot be measured using large-diameter electromagnetic flowmeters. Determination of the sensor diameter: The flow meter is used at flow speeds ranging from 0.3 to 15 m/s; in this case, the diameter of the flow meter can be chosen to match the diameter of the user’s pipeline. When the flow rate is below 0.3 m/s, the flow rate at the instrument area is increased locally using a reducing nozzle; next is the choice between an integrated or separate design. The integrated type is chosen when the on-site environment is favorable, that is, the sensor and converter are assembled together. In the separate type, the sensor and the converter are installed in different locations. After selecting the correct model, proper installation is also particularly important in order to ensure the stable operation of large-diameter electromagnetic flowmeters. Try to avoid ferromagnetic objects as well as devices that generate strong electromagnetic fields (such as large motors and large transformers), so as to prevent the magnetic field from affecting the working magnetic field of the sensor and the flow rate data ; It should be installed in a dry and well-ventilated area; it is not suitable for installation in damp places where water tends to accumulate ; It is necessary to avoid exposure to sunlight and rain as much as possible, as well as environments with temperatures above 45°C and relative humidity above 95% ; Choose a location that is easy to maintain and convenient for access ; Large-diameter electromagnetic flowmeters should be installed at the rear end of the water pump; they must not be installed on the suction side ; The valve should be installed on the downstream side of the flow meter.
