How should a backup machine be prepared? Which devices require a device machine? For example, in the main process flow, if a pump in a certain section doesn’t have a backup unit, then if that pump fails, the entire production line will have to stop operating
There’s no backup machine; if it breaks, then it just has to stop working. It’s their fault for not having one
Are there any standard guidelines or manuals available for setting up backup machines?
If you have enough money, prepare more; if not, don’t. Stop using it once it breaks

It mainly depends on how process safety management is handled. We classify equipment by grade. Determine whether the backup device should be cold or hot based on its level of importance. For spare parts, we generally determine the inventory level based on an amount sufficient for three maintenance sessions of the equipment

Over 95% of petrochemical plants are equipped with backup pumps. The main considerations are the importance of the equipment within the process, as well as the impact on the safety of the installation in case the pump needs to be repaired and taken out of service. For some key pumps, imported ones are required, but considering economic factors, imported pumps are generally used for the main pumps while domestic ones are used as backups. This principle is similar to the grading standards for electrical power supply.
General spare parts are a bit better. The main issue is the poor versatility of the seals, which results in a large amount of inventory being tied up; at its peak, this amount reached 6K. . . . Trying to find a way to integrate it.
