In China, large compressors are generally connected to motors in a rigid direct connection manner. Small, low-power skid-mounted compressors use pulley connections to save space; however, in some locations, pulley connections are prohibited for safety reasons. Personally, I think that with proper arrangement, a direct connection doesn’t necessarily take up a lot of space.
