Regarding dry gas seals

During the shutdown and startup phases of the compressor, when the machine is not yet rotating, can the dry gas seal prevent gas from leaking? And for how long can it provide such sealing?
All dynamic seals will leak; there is an air film between the ring surfaces
Dry gas must be kept in use at all times to avoid dry grinding
For a newly installed unit during its first operation, should a dry gas seal be activated first, followed by nitrogen purging of the unit before introducing process gas? Should it be started up directly, or should nitrogen be used for purging first? After the purging, a dry gas seal should be installed before introducing process gas and starting up the system. Alternatively, first replace with nitrogen, then introduce process gas, followed by adding dry gas, and finally start the machine
The dry gas seal must be put into operation before the unit is started up, in order to prevent contaminants from entering the dry gas seal
Before the machine is supplied with process gas (or when the pressure of the process gas is not high enough), nitrogen is used for the dry gas seal (the dry gas seal system is equipped with a self-pressurizing pump)； Once the unit is operating properly and the outlet reaches the operating pressure, switch to process gas.
First, introduce the primary sealing gas, then the secondary one; introduce the isolation gas before rotation
