Friends, in our coking unit, the temperature and vibration of the rear shaft of the centrifugal rich gas compressor gearbox do not exhibit any periodic or irregular fluctuations; as the shaft temperature rises, the vibration decreases, and then everything returns to normal. Please advise me on the reason, thank you!
There are the situations mentioned by the poster: one is resonance in the unit along with problems with the bearing clearance, and the other reason is imbalance in the rotor, which is a more likely possibility. It is recommended to carry out maintenance on the unit, perform dynamic balancing of the gears, and inspect the bearings.
I think it’s still a matter of alignment; when the temperature is high, everything is normal, which indicates that the standard position for alignment is achieved after thermal expansion
To approve the disassembly and repair, first check whether the clearance of the coupling is within the required range, and also examine the installation requirements to see if any tolerance is needed. Additionally, the issue with the equipment is whether it was present from the beginning or arose later on.
