Is alignment necessary after the repair of a vertical pump?

I’ve been working on a maintenance plan for a Foss barrel pump recently. During the review, my supervisor said that vertical pumps do not require alignment, but I found in other sources that alignment is necessary. Some people also say that it’s not needed as the pump is already set up at the factory. So, is alignment really required?
Check whether the motor is positioned by a stop, WUC’s
Check around the motor frame for set screws
Regarding the alignment of vertical pumps, there aren’t any standard documents available

Vertical pumps usually have flanges and do not require alignment.
It would be best to include a diagram or a schematic. It can be said that all couplings need to be aligned. It should be analyzed and understood based on the principle of the equipment to determine whether alignment is required. As for the “standard,” it comes from practice. It’s best to be targeted, meeting the standards while also having a plausible principle to explain it – that would be perfect.
Vertical pumps need to be aligned (adjust the radial deviation using the set screws on the flange, and adjust the axial alignment by working on the opposite side of the flange face)
