May I ask what is the protruding ring part on the mechanical seal that leaks the medium (alkali)?
Is there any schematic diagram that can help me understand?
It looks like it should be a double-end mechanical seal, right? If the medium is leaking, it should be leaking from the shaft sleeve. It should be that the O-ring in the shaft sleeve has failed. If it leaks from the outer circle of the shaft sleeve, it means that the rings on the medium side and the atmosphere side have all failed. Also, the hole on the gland should be the leak hole. If it is a leak hole, its position should be directly below or below.
