The valve stem seal of the control valve in Hangzhou Steam Turbine is sealed using flexible graphite seals. Flexible graphite sealing rings include open rings and closed rings; what is the function of each? What are the quantity requirements? How should the open and closed loops be arranged?
I heard from Hangqi that the closed-loop ring is at the bottom and the open-loop ring is at the top, but I still haven’t figured out the principle behind such an arrangement
