At 8:00 a.m., regular vibrations were suddenly detected at 8 vibration measurement points in the gearbox of the main fan of the catalytic unit; the amplitude of these vibrations ranged from 35 to 55 micrometers. The vibration amplitude measured using a vibration detector was between 1.5 and 2.5 mm/s, and there were no abnormalities indicated by the instruments on site. What could be the cause of this?
I. Examine the spectrum to determine the harmonic order and infer the cause of the increased vibration. II. Visually inspect the bearing for any abnormal noises.
I have encountered this kind of problem; increasing the load on the main fan slightly or reducing the load on the exhaust fan can solve it

In the event of abnormalities with devices of this type, on-site inspection must be the primary approach. It is better to assume it exists than to assume it does not. First, check through the viewing and access holes to see if there are any foreign objects or damage on the gears, and then check the bearings. Often, when analyzing and evaluating instruments, it causes damage to mechanical equipment to worsen. It should be given attention.

In such a situation, it is necessary to stop the machine immediately for inspection; there could be two possible reasons: 1. Damage to the gear meshing surfaces or gear fracture; 2. Pits appear on the surface of the bearing race or rolling elements.
