Speed requirements for reciprocating compressors

The speed of reciprocating compressors is not specified in the API standards, but it is specified in SH/T3143. What are the main considerations behind the requirement regarding speed?
Nonsense spoken by amateurs who don’t know anything about this topic :) Possible factors could include the piston stroke and the required rotational speed of the rotor? The larger the stroke, the lower the speed? The flow rate of gas entering and leaving the cylinder? And then there’s the structure of the allowed settings, right? ;P
