According to these instructions, how many liters of oil should be added to the turbine oil station? I did the calculations, and it seems like 30,000 liters of oil are needed – that’s over 100 barrels. That doesn’t seem right???? Have I made a mistake somewhere?
Calculating the effective volume of the lubricant tank gives the amount of oil that can be added.
Turbine oil circulates within the oil circulation system. The amount of oil used is determined by the requirements of the equipment that consumes it, and it is supplied by the displacement of the oil supply pump. The amount of oil to be added depends on the effective volume of the oil tank as well as relevant specifications. The effective volume of the fuel tank is usually 3 to 7 times the pump’s flow rate per minute (depending on the application); using an average of 5 times, the fuel volume could be around 2500 liters. There is a problem with the selection of these calculation conditions. There should be an appropriate amount of oil for normal operation in all components; this includes the capacity of the fuel tank, the volume of the high-level fuel tank and the pressure fuel tank, as well as those of the pipeline coolers and filters.

The manufacturers of lubricant stations have done the calculations; generally, 85% ± 5% is sufficient when filling the station.
