In our company, one gear-type multi-shaft compressor within the air separation unit was manufactured by MAN. Since September 1 this year, its operating value has been gradually rising, and it is now approaching the alarm threshold. It can be seen that the increase is mainly at 1x frequency. Fellow sailors, what causes this?

It is best to conduct on-site tests using portable vibration measuring instruments, and make a comprehensive judgment by combining the actual conditions detected with a stethoscope. If there are indeed abnormal noises and vibrations, it is necessary to contact someone for prompt inspection and resolution without delay. Additionally, a synchronization between changes in bearing temperature and vibrations can also indicate that there is a problem with the bearing. Things like this should be taken seriously; there’s no point in ignoring them, and it cannot be delayed. There are various reasons for this, such as imbalance in dynamic balance caused by scaling on the impeller, excessive bearing clearance due to oil quality issues, insufficient oil at the lubrication points, changes in the overall level of the equipment, and loose foundation bolts. Especially for newly commissioned equipment, any problems that arise may be related to the original components,,,,,. For reference.
Is it just one tile with this value, or do all the preceding and following tiles have the same value? Is this the case in the other paragraphs as well? What’s the temperature of the bearing oil?
A spectrum diagram can be attached, and the structure of the machine unit can also be provided. Generally, an increase in the first harmonic frequency is mainly caused by dynamic balancing
Personal advice: 1. Try to provide the design parameters of this compressor as well as its current operating parameters, such as flow rate, pressure, temperature, etc. 2. Provide as many typical spectrum diagrams as possible. 3. DCS screenshots – this makes it easier for everyone to make judgments.
