There is a alignment issue that I haven’t been able to figure out: when the dial indicator is placed on the side of the prime mover and on the side of the driven machine, the readings differ significantly. I’m not sure what the reason for this is
This phenomenon often occurs in equipment with sliding bearings that do not require high precision, as well as in cases where alignment based on height differences is required. The results measured after manual forward and reverse rotation differ. The main reason is the large bearing clearance. For reference.
