Is the sealing between flanges achieved using O-rings? So how is the basic sealing width b0 determined?
The flange on the top is flat, while the corresponding flange on the bottom has a groove for the O-ring
Yours is variable; it’s impossible to say what b0 is, as it depends on the tightness of the bolts.
It’s about flattening it out; there should be some value, right? Is there any design information available for this type of quick-release flange that uses O-rings?
Sealing with O-rings: I’ve seen that in machinery, sealing is achieved by using grooves sized according to the O-ring dimensions (as specified in mechanical design manuals). It’s just that the pressure won’t be too high. No calculation was done either.
In the plate and frame filter press hydraulic station, O-rings are used for sealing between the check valves, relief valves, and the base plate.
Sealing it up is enough. The pressure won’t be too high.
