Molecular sieve drying equipment, made of ordinary carbon steel; the internal media are natural gas and water vapor, with a temperature of 288 degrees Celsius. To reduce heat loss, it is desired to install an insulating layer inside the equipment so as to keep the temperature of the external steel at around 60 degrees. The equipment has a diameter of 600 mm and a length of 4500 mm, with oval end caps. The diameter is too small; people can’t get in. If internal insulation lining is necessary, it can only be done in sections.
There is a type of tank called a double-wall tank, in which a rigid insulating material is filled between the inner and outer walls; the inner wall separates the medium from the insulation, while the outer wall bears the pressure.
The temperature inside is so high that heat transfer calculations are necessary; otherwise, the temperature outside could exceed 60 degrees. Vacuum insulation can be considered, but actual test results are required for that.
External insulation of over 200 degrees is sufficient; internal insulation is not necessary.
