For a flat-bottomed storage tank with dimensions of 3000*4500, installed on a steel structural floor, is it necessary to use river sand at the bottom as well? Are there any regulatory requirements for this?
The strength and stiffness of the steel structural floor at the location where the storage tank is installed must be determined through structural design; the bottom of the storage tank should not be supported by sand, but should be connected directly to the floor.
For corrosion prevention reasons, it is best to use asphalt sand as a cushion.
