I have a question: For a distillation tower with a height of 16 meters and a diameter of 0.6 meters, equipped with ear-type supports, and connected in sections through 6 pairs of flanges, is it necessary to perform calculations for each section individually? Furthermore, from the perspective of considering hydrostatic pressure columns and cost savings, are there any regulatory requirements regarding the segmented calculation of vertical vessels with a large diameter ratio?

There are no specific segmentation requirements for the equipment field; the main considerations are the load-bearing capacity of the packing, the loading and unloading of the packing, the uniform distribution of the medium within the bed layer, and the installation of tower sections (within the framework). Note that the grade of the connection flange must be selected using equivalent pressure.
It can be segmented, by dividing it at the flange openings.
It’s a pretty small tower; whether it’s divided into sections or not makes little difference. It is mainly the calculation of the cylinder thickness at the ear seat.
