Industrial gas water heaters are advanced devices that combine the use of water and gas to provide hot water as well as self-heating; they are convenient to use and not affected by external factors. If users can make proper use of them, they can not only ensure the proper operation of gas water heaters but also extend their service life. Most importantly, it prevents the waste of energy. Below are some key tips regarding the use of gas water heaters for your reference. I. Dealing with the pressure of gas-fired hot water heaters Before using the device, users should first check whether the pointer on the pressure gauge of the gas-fired hot water boiler is within the specified range. The standard pressure as indicated in the manual is 1–1.2 bars. However, in actual use, due to the presence of air in the heating system and inside the hot water heater, this air escapes from the exhaust valve of the boiler as it operates, causing the pressure to drop irregularly. During winter heating, the water in the heating system contracts when heated, which raises the pressure; once the water cools down, the pressure drops again. This is an abnormal phenomenon. Experimental results show that maintaining the water pressure in the wall-mounted boiler within the range of 0.5–1.5 bar has no impact whatsoever on its proper operation. If the water pressure is below 0.5 bars, it may result in uneven water temperature in the heating system or failure to start properly; if the water pressure is above 1.5 bars, the system pressure increases during heating, and if it exceeds 3 bars, the safety valve of the gas water heater will automatically release water, which can cause significant losses. Under normal conditions, it is sufficient to top up water every one to two months. Special note: After making minor water top-ups, be sure to turn off the water supply valve for the gas-fired hot water system; owners who are away on business should shut off the main water supply valve. It is recommended to install a drain pipe on the safety valve of gas water heaters in order to prevent unnecessary losses caused by excessive pressure in the gas water heater system. II. Handling the red light on gas water heaters When a gas water heater is turned on, if no flame is detected, it enters a warning mode, and the red alarm indicator light on the device will turn on to signal an issue. The reason for this situation is that the gas connected to it also experienced a stoppage. At this point, it is necessary to check for various issues that might be preventing the gas from functioning: 1. Whether the natural gas supply is unobstructed and there is no gas outage; 2. Whether the battery in the gas meter is dead; 3. Whether there is insufficient balance in the gas meter; 4. Whether the gas valve is not turned on; 5. Any other issues related to the gas meter; 6. Check the water and electricity supplies to rule out any problems. If you want to start using the gas-fired hot water system, it is necessary to manually reset the gas boiler until the indicator light shows that it is ready to operate.
