Appendix B of GB150.1-2011 states that rupture discs cannot be used alone in applications involving media with an extremely high, high, or explosive toxicity level. However, the devices we design often use hydrogen as a medium, which is explosive. Due to factors such as their own cost considerations, customers often request that blast discs be used on the equipment. In this situation, how should it be handled? Does anyone have any good solutions?
It’s definitely not allowed to violate national standards! ! It doesn’t matter how users use it, but your design documents must be correct
As a designer, you of course follow the national standards
It seems to be used together with the safety valve
The design must comply with national standards; in the event of any safety incident at the site, the design is examined first, followed by the construction process and operations. The documents provided to the owner must meet relevant specifications. It is possible to calculate for the owner what size burst disc can serve as a substitute for a safety valve; if the owner wishes to make changes, they should find their own construction team and supervisor
Comply with the relevant requirements in the hydrogen station design specifications. .
Used in conjunction with a safety valve; a branch pipe is installed between the burst disc and the safety valve, along with a check valve and a pressure gauge
Is it possible to install only the safety valve...
