Are approval certificates no longer being issued?
I think what we **want to do* is follow the ASME practices in the United States: design does not require certification, only the manufacturer’s production certification is needed; once that is in place, design is possible
This is a matter of administrative licensing; it’s inevitable that the qualifications for design approvals will be revoked – it’s just a matter of time. What is being discussed here are the qualifications of the reviewers and approvers involved in design assessments.

Is the same applied to A1 as well? Do I and my junior apprentice have the same qualifications? ?
The approval certificate will not be revoked; there is a legal basis for this, and the final drawings still require signing and stamping. Someone has to be responsible for the quality of the drawings.
My personal understanding is that the qualification review is now based on an individual’s qualifications rather than those of an organization; therefore, when an individual changes jobs, there is no need to go through procedures for transferring those qualifications. This also simplifies things for the evaluation committee. However, it’s likely that employers will not be happy about this.
It might turn into individual registration for practice, similar to registered chemical engineers and the like.
