Dear experts, I would like to ask why, in the standards, angular steel is used for external heating of certain containers – what are the advantages of this approach compared to using semi-tubes?
Is the advantage low cost? The half-pipe still needs to be made; the angle steel is available ready-to-use.
The answer above is correct; the high processing cost lies in half-tube production
Angle steel is good – it saves material and is readily available, but I don’t think there are ready-made profiles for pressure vessels
Using angle steel as a coil means that, according to the specifications, the material is not suitable; carbon steel angle steel is usually of type Q235B, and there are many limitations when using it as a pressure-bearing component.
