Does the oil mist separator of a heat transfer oil furnace need to be insulated?

For the oil mist separator in heat transfer oil furnaces, I’ve seen that some units are insulated while others aren’t. So, should it be insulated or not?
In the main circulation pipeline, I think insulation is needed. Procedures explicitly prohibit the use of expansion tanks with insulation
However, when the higher-level security department conducted an inspection, it was stated that the oil mist separator cannot retain heat.
The U-tubes of the sump and the oil-gas separator do not require insulation, which prevents the sump from overheating
