Boiler water softening issues

We use two-stage reverse osmosis, and the reclaimed water is mixed before being fed into the boiler. The problem is that the quality of the reclaimed water does not meet the standards (hardness, iron content; other parameters have not been tested). To address this issue, softeners are added, and after that the hardness level becomes acceptable. I would like to ask experts what impact this will have on the approach; thank you.
Was the wastewater from reverse osmosis mixed with soft water?
The recycled water has been treated, so there should be no problem.
