Without a picture, I really have no idea which place you’re talking about. Judging from the diagram, it should be the straight-length distance between the flanged tube sheet in front of the flashback chamber and the interface with the furnace liner. Considering that you have already set the flanging diameter to 40. Thus, the length of the straight section determines the distance between the center of the flashback chamber and the centerline of the furnace shell. Simply put, the larger the straight section is, the closer the centerlines of the furnace chamber and the flashback chamber become; the greater the breathing space between the outer wall of the furnace chamber and the inner wall of the flashback chamber. However, this means there is less space available for installing smoke pipes in the flashback chamber. Therefore, as long as the conditions for manufacturing are met and the distance between breathing voids is slightly larger than that specified in GB16508, it will be fine.
