This post was last edited by newmanking on 2018-1-11 at 10:31. The temperature inside the jacket is around -20°C, while the melting point of the material to be fed is approximately 45°C. The entire reactor vessel is cooled over night, and the feeding port is also equipped with electric heating and kept active throughout the night. I was wondering if anyone who’s encountered this situation has any suggestions for a better type of feeding port that can prevent clogging or ensure smooth feeding each time. I’d really appreciate some advice from those who know more!

I’m a bit confused by the terms ‘cooling over night’ and ‘electric heating over night’ mentioned by the poster, but I roughly understand what they mean. The diameter of the feeding port can be increased appropriately (it should be larger than that of the feed pipe, and connected using non-standard flanges). Heat tracing is added outside the feed inlet.
3 methods: 1. Install a preheater with a structure similar to that of a condenser at the feeding port. 2. Use a jacketed flange at the feeding port, with hot water or steam used inside the jacket. 3. Place a heating internal coil inside the reactor; choose one of these methods depending on the characteristics of your reactor and the materials being processed
Thank you for the reply; the opening has been tightly sealed and coated on the inside. It can’t be increased.
A small heater is placed above the opening; once the material melts, it flows into the tank
