We are working on our graduation project, whose topic is the production of 1,000 tons per year of bisphenol S. In the subsequent separation and purification stage, we need to select an appropriate piece of equipment for this purpose. The process conditions are as follows: bisphenol S solids contain a small amount of phenol in liquid form, and steam is used to remove the phenol. However, it’s not clear which conventional equipment would be suitable for carrying out this process under these conditions. A stripping tower will do; the principle is the same as that of a distillation tower – steam is introduced into the bottom of the tower, and the rest is similar to the design of a distillation tower
