There is a project with a design pressure of 135 bar and a design temperature of 150; The project design specifications are prepared in accordance with GB standards, whereas the project’s pipeline technical specifications follow EU standards DIN ; (Chaotic!) 1.4404 grade steel was purchased for the pipes (which corresponds to 316L); due to material constraints, SS316L was used for the flanges, with dimensions based on the thickness specifications of the old HG20592 standard. The aforementioned incoming materials are problem-free ; But the problem lies with the bolts ; The bolts purchased are made of 25CrMo4 (Din standard), with a tensile strength of around 700 Mpa and a yield strength of around 500 Mpa. May I ask if the bolts can be used? It is in such situations that the issue arises regarding whether the bolts meet those acceptance specifications.
Such issues would need to be clarified with the designer, right? Shouldn’t the designers follow the requirements of the project specifications when carrying out the design? It’s unreasonable to use so many standards together in one project, right? There is too little preliminary work for the project.
