Why do some factories remove the glass-lined reactors (which are special equipment) and take off their nameplates to keep them?

Some factories, when removing their glass-lined reactors (which are special equipment and are taken apart for disposal), take the nameplates off and keep them. But what’s the use of nameplates when the equipment is discarded?
It is to comply with the regulations regarding the manufacturing, use, modification, and disposal of special equipment.
After the enamel on the enamel-lined tank cracks, the base material has not been corroded, so it can be sent back to the manufacturer for re-enameling; this is likely the reason why the nameplate remains intact.

Devices that are deemed obsolete are taken back by the official inspection authorities to prevent their further use; it’s similar to how, in the case of scrapped vehicles, the vehicle registration document, the green booklet, and the driving license must be taken back by the vehicle registration office – it’s the same principle
