When determining the allowable load on the pipe outlet of the equipment, stresses and torques in the XYZ directions need to be considered. I would like to ask whether these forces have positive or negative values? What is provided by the piping department does not distinguish between positive and negative values. So when calculating the forces at the equipment connections, should we consider applying this same force in both positive and negative directions, thereby performing the calculation twice? I think it’s necessary to provide the positive and negative values, as well as the three elements: magnitude, direction, and point of action. The piping discipline should provide the magnitude of forces and moments, the direction of the model coordinate system (it is acceptable if there is an angle between the fittings and the coordinate system; in such cases, the forces and moments need to be projected onto the model coordinate system), as well as the location where the loads act.
