There is currently a atmospheric-pressure equipment with a diameter of 2600, made of material S30408, and the thickness of all components is 6 mm. The bearings specified are of type JB/T47012.4 B5. The issue is that the standard specifies a gasket thickness of 12 mm, while the thickness of the cylinder itself is 6 mm; should the gasket thickness also be 6 mm to match that of the cylinder? If I can choose 6mm, do I need to calculate it?
It depends on the operating quality of your equipment, that is, on its volume and on how many kilograms of medium it can hold. There’s no problem with gaseous substances or small amounts of liquid phase; but if the volume is large and liquid phase substances are stored, calculations need to be done.
This is not simply a matter of reducing thickness; the key is whether the supports can hold it securely. It is recommended to do the calculation.

Follow the calculation formulas provided in the bearing standards, and simply fill in the numbers in yellow font in the attachment
The standards provide values for 4 ranges: 120, 140, 167, and 185 MPa. Determine which material to use by checking which of these ranges is closest to the corresponding value. Use the data from that table.
There is another issue: the standard specifies a gasket thickness of 10 mm, but I am using 6 mm for my cylinder and head – does the gasket thickness need to be changed to 6 mm? Does the thickness of the shimming plate need to be checked?
There is no need to check the shims; it is sufficient to examine the local stress in the cylinder at the support locations.
