For the pressure vessel drawings designed by pressure vessel manufacturers, is it necessary to have a detail sheet in the general layout? What is the definition of a general layout, and where can specific instructions be found?

Article 3.1.4.4 of the Fixed Capacity Regulations is a basic requirement that must be met.
TSG 21—2016 \"Code for Safety Inspection of Fixed Pressure Vessels\" 3.1.4.4.21 Main contents of the general layout On the design general layout of a pressure vessel, the following information must be indicated at least: (1) The name and category of the pressure vessel, as well as the main regulations and product standards applicable to its design and manufacture； (2) Working conditions, including working pressure, working temperature, and medium properties (toxicity and explosion hazard level, etc.) ； (3) Design conditions, including design temperature, design load (all loads to be considered, including pressure), medium (components), corrosion margin, weld joint factor, natural conditions, etc. For storage tanks used for storing liquefied gas, a filling coefficient shall be specified; for storage vessels prone to stress corrosion, a limit on the content of corrosive substances shall be indicated ； (4) Material grade and material standard of the main compression members ； (5) Main characteristic parameters (such as the volume of pressure vessels, the heat exchange area and number of stages of heat exchangers, etc.) ； (6) Design service life of pressure vessels (number of cycles specified for fatigue-resistant vessels) ； (7) Special manufacturing requirements ； (8) Heat treatment requirements ； (9) Non-destructive testing requirements ； (10) Requirements for voltage withstand test and leakage test ； (11) Requirements for corrosion prevention ； (12) Specifications of safety accessories and special ordering requirements (except those already considered in the process system) ； (13) Location of the pressure vessel nameplate ； (14) Requirements for packaging, transportation, on-site welding, and installation.

It is necessary; large-size specifications require it. The one stamped with the design seal is the general layout diagram; it’s the red oval seal – anyone who can read will recognize it. After production, there’s also a square completion seal. If it’s the original design, there’s a small square seal indicating inspection and approval, and there may also be seals from other organizations confirming the review of the design. Other drawings generally do not have a design stamp.
