How is the thickness of aluminum containers calculated, and what standards are used? Our company plans to manufacture a set of filter bag dust collectors, and this involves calculations related to the construction of the housing. Since the exhaust gas contains fine particles that need to be recovered, the exhaust gas has a temperature of around 200 degrees Celsius, a negative pressure of 7 kPa, and it contains water vapor and hydrogen chloride. To prevent corrosion, we have decided to use aluminum sheets for the housing; however, aluminum sheets have low strength. I’m not sure how to determine the appropriate thickness or the need for reinforcing elements. I hope experts can provide some guidance :(

The design, manufacturing, inspection, and acceptance of aluminum containers shall be carried out in accordance with JB/T4734-2002 \"Aluminum Welded Containers\" and GB/T150.1~150.4-2011 \"Pressure Vessels\"； If the temperature, pressure, volume, etc. of such equipment fall under the scope of the TSG21-2016 \"Regulations on Pressure Vessels\", it shall also be designed, manufactured, inspected, and accepted in accordance with the TSG21-2016 \"Regulations on Pressure Vessels\". However, based on your description, aluminum cannot be used; an chemical reaction occurs between aluminum sheets and hydrochloric acid: 2Al + 6HCl = 2AlCl3 + 3H2↑. Gasketed carbon steel, plastic-lined carbon steel, or fiberglass-reinforced plastic are recommended. Additionally: Since 2017, hydrochloric acid has been classified as a highly hazardous substance (see screenshot for details); standard-compliant equipment manufacturers should pay attention to raising the requirements for design, manufacturing, inspection, and acceptance.
