What are the characteristics of high-pressure studs? What are the requirements for outdoor environments?
The high-pressure studs are double-ended studs with a thinner shank in the middle; their threads are fine-thread types as specified in GB/T196, and the root of the threads is circular. The diameter of the bare portion in the middle is determined by calculations based on the load on the studs, but it must be smaller than the minor diameter of the fine-threaded screw. This design provides high flexibility to the studs, as well as resistance to impact and fatigue. Regarding the requirements for ambient temperature, please refer to the minimum operating temperature for studs in the material section of GB/T150.

I feel that in the outdoor environment, in addition to considering the ambient temperature, the effects of fog and rain also need to be taken into account to prevent rusting, as otherwise the nuts can’t be removed.

The technical requirements for high-pressure fasteners can be found in detail in SEI’s BCEQ 9411AI and HG21573. Regarding the requirements for outdoor environments, I have found that according to NACE standards, for fasteners used in acidic environments such as those with hydrogen sulfide in oil refineries, bolts made of B7M material must be used.
