I’m not very clear about the operating conditions for steel-lined PTFE storage tanks – what are the extreme conditions?
I have summarized the production process for tetrafluoroethylene storage tanks; it basically involves the following steps: In this process, 3mm thick tetrafluoroethylene sheets are bonded tightly to the inner wall of the tank using glue. The specific manufacturing steps are as follows: 1. Preparation of the steel blank for the fluorinated lining tank; 2. Special attention should be paid to sandblasting for rust removal: This sandblasting step is very crucial; if it is not done properly, the PTFE sheet applied on top will easily come off ; 3. Sodium treatment of the raw material polytetrafluoroethylene is carried out; this step is aimed at improving the adhesion properties of polytetrafluoroethylene and expanding its range of applications. The surface of polytetrafluoroethylene that has been treated with a sodium treatment agent becomes hydrophilic ; 4. Apply the hard glue with a brush; be sure to wait until the first coat of glue has completely dried before applying the second coat ; 5. When applying the sheet, first heat the PTFE sheet, then use specialized tools and manual force to push the sheet flatly onto the surface of the equipment. Note: When applying the tetrafluoride plate, there must be no bulging. 6. Shape the joint where the two PTFE plates meet into V-shaped and Y-shaped grooves. This step is quite labor-intensive; it requires manual use of a craft knife to scrape and cut bit by bit. 7. After edge trimming is completed, welding begins. Our company usually performs welding twice: the first time using PFA ribbon for welding, and the second time using wider PFA welding strips. 8. Spark testing: The spark voltage at the crack site is 15Kv, while the voltage on the PTFE plate is 20Kv. 9. External anti-corrosion: Before applying paint, the outer surface must be sanded smooth. That’s roughly the process by which a tetrafluoroethylene storage tank is basically formed.
